GCCI organized Session on “Creating Social Impact Through Social Media Influencing”

Ahmedabad ,GCCI Film & Entertainment Taskforce, Business Women Committee, Events & Exhibitions Taskforce and Digital Marketing, Digital Media and Bulletin Committee joined hands to organize a session on “Creating Social Impact Through Social Media Influencing”. The speakers on the occasion were Shri Ajay Umat, Group Editor, Ahmedabad Mirror & NavGujarat Samay, Shri Popatbhai Ahir, Influencer and Social worker and Ms. Jigna Rajgor Joshi, Founder & CEO, Jhansi OTT.

In his welcome address, Shri Rajesh Gandhi, Sr. Vice President, GCCI emphasized that social media has become a ubiquitous presence worldwide, wielding significant influence over many of our decisions. He noted that for businesses or groups to effectively impact and engage their target audience, it is essential to understand and master social media. Shri Gaurang Bhagat, Hon. Secretary, GCCI expressed confidence that the dialogue with the eminent speakers would enhance our understanding of this subject.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Aasit Shah, Chairman, GCCI Film & Entertainment Taskforce highlighted the profound influence of social media. He remarked that possessing skills and talents alone is not sufficient; one must also grasp the nuances of social media to reach a broader audience.

Shri Ajay Umat pointed out that times are rapidly changing and that printed media is becoming increasingly obsolete. He also addressed the issue of fake news and cautioned that the algorithms employed by social media platforms can pose significant risks.

Shri Popat Ahir stated that social media has emerged as a powerful tool that shapes our behaviour in both positive and negative ways. He emphasized that individuals can build their social media influence through consistent practice and observation.

Ms. Jigna Rajgor Joshi, Founder & CEO Jhansi OTT encouraged more women to actively participate on social media platforms. She stressed the importance of being discerning about the content one consumes and noted that social media can be leveraged to create effective helplines in times of need.

Ms. Amrita Acharya, Happiness Coach moderated the session. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri Paurash Patel.
