GLS University Welcomes New Fintech Batch with Inspiring Orientation and Alumni Success Stories

GLS University’s Faculty of Commerce successfully hosted an orientation program for its first-year Fintech Batch of 2025-26 on Friday, July 11, 2025. The event was meticulously designed to officially welcome new students and provide a comprehensive overview of the myriad academic and extracurricular opportunities available at the esteemed institute.

The program commenced on a positive note with a heartfelt prayer performed by talented students from the university’s Music Club, followed by the spirited rendition of the GLS Anthem. The atmosphere was then set for an encouraging session that prominently highlighted the remarkable academic achievements of past students, serving as a powerful source of inspiration.

Dean, Faculty of Commerce offered invaluable insights into the significant milestones and heights reached by the university, setting an inspiring and aspirational tone for the incoming cohort. A particular highlight of the day was the series of addresses by distinguished alumni, who shared their unique journeys and successes.

Mr. Kunal Shah, an alumni of FOC gave a brief on how the college has helped him. He also said that this college is an incubation center for the students, fostering innovation and providing crucial support for budding entrepreneurs. He encouraged the students by speaking candidly about his time studying at FOC and how the environment helped him gain confidence in his skills. He also emphasized that FOC had always been immensely supportive of his career and academic decisions, expressing his sincere gratitude to the university for providing him with crucial opportunities to grow.

CA Jenul Sanghani, a Senior Partner from Deloitte , highlighted the vastness of the Fintech sector, underscoring its significant growth and diverse opportunities.ย  Furthermore, he shed light on the global reach of Indian talent, stating that approximately one in every four employees at Deloitte, a company over 150 years old and renowned for its consulting services, is Indian.

Explaining the significance of Fintech to the students he told that not a single day can pass without using a fintech application for example digital or upi payments that we make are the examples of Fintech and the online purchasesย  we make are the examples ofย  Fintech.

CA Aditya Sheth, from Zellย  addressedย  Fintech 2025 Batch and discussed about the significant growth of the Fintech landscape in India, with over 21 Fintech companies now operating in the country.

In addition, students were thoroughly briefed about the various university clubs that actively organize workshops and events throughout the year, offering diverse avenues for holistic development and skill enhancement beyond the academic curriculum.
