GCCI Textile Leadership Conclave 2025: Focus on Improve Cotton Yield and Technical Textiles Startups
Ahmedabad, GCCI Textile Task Force is pleased to announce the fourth edition of the Textile Leadership Conclave 2025, organized by the GCCI Textile Task Force scheduled to be held on Saturday, 8th March 2025, at the Golden Glory Hall, Karnavati Club, Ahmedabad.
The Textile Leadership Conclave is a premier platform that brings together key stakeholders from across the textile value chain, including Technical Textiles, Ginning, Spinning, Weaving, Garmenting and Textile Machinery manufacturing. This year’s conclave aims to foster meaningful dialogue, share industry insights, and promote collaboration between established industry leaders and emerging textile startups.
Shri Sandeep Engineer, President, GCCI emphasized that the GCCI Textile Leadership Conclave has consistently acted as a catalyst for forward-thinking dialogue and actionable strategies within the textile industry. As preparations for the 2025 edition are underway, the focus remains on driving innovation, fostering sustainability and enhancing collaboration to position Gujarat and India as global leaders in the technical textile sector. He highlighted that the conclave is a reflection of GCCI’s ongoing commitment to empowering the industry through knowledge-sharing, networking and creating growth opportunities.
The 2025 edition of the conclave will focus on three pivotal themes:
- Technical Textiles: Exploring the rapidly expanding technical textiles sector, with a focus on innovation, applications and emerging market trends.
- Cotton Crop Yield Mission: Addressing the current state and future potential of cotton production, with an emphasis on sustainable practices and cultivation techniques to enhance yield. It aligns with the ‘Mission for Cotton Productivity’ announced by the Hon’ble Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, in this year’s Union Budget. The five-year mission aims to significantly improve the productivity and sustainability of cotton farming, promote the cultivation of extra-long staple cotton varieties and aims to achieve increase our current yield from 461 Kgs per hectare and to match the global average of 850 Kgs per hectare.
- Startups: Providing a platform for promising technical textile startups to showcase their innovations and connect with industry veterans for mentorship and growth opportunities.
Expected Participation: The event is expected to draw more than 1000 participants from across Gujarat, representing diverse sectors of the textile industry including Technical Textiles, Garmenting, Textile Machinery, Process Houses and more. This event aims to further the dialogue on innovation, sustainability, and the future of the textile industry in Gujarat and beyond.

The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is excited to announce two flagship events. The GCCI Annual Trade Expo (GATE 2025) will be held from 10th to 12th April 2025 at Vigyan Bhavan, Science City, Ahmedabad, showcasing innovations and fostering business collaborations. Following this, Farm to Fashion 2025 organized in collaboration with K&D Communication Ltd. and in association with key supporting partner the Maskati Cloth Market Mahajan Association, will be held from 11th to 14th May 2025 at the Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar. The event will highlight the journey from cotton farming to fashion, emphasizing sustainability and technology. Both events aim to drive innovation and strengthen Gujarat’s global trade presence.

First Textile Leadership Conclave (23rd April 2022)
The event brought together leaders from 27 prominent national and regional textile associations to engage with government officials, including Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Jagdish Panchal, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Government of Gujarat, Ms. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, IA&AS, Textile Commissioner, Government of India and Dr. Munjal Dave, Industries Officer, Government of Gujarat. This interaction facilitated a dialogue between the government and the industry on various topics, such as current affairs, FTAs, growth plans, incentives and subsidies, taxation and cotton production for the textile industry, among others. Speakers at the conclave included four leaders of the textile industry who shared the success stories of their business groups: Shri Punit Lalbhai (Arvind Group), Shri Rajesh Mandawewala (Welspun Group), Shri Rajendra Agarwal (Donear Group), Shri Mohan Kavrie (Supreme Group) and Shri Rohit Pal (Infiiloom).
Second Textile Leadership Conclave (8th April 2023)
The conclave was attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. During the event, the Textile Digital Directory was launched, featuring profiles of over 6,000 companies across nine product categories to enhance industry connectivity and growth. The Textile Interactive Meet, held in the esteemed presence of Smt. Darshanaben Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles & Railways, saw participation from leading textile associations nationwide. Key topics discussed in the interactive session included enhancing productivity, promoting Khadi and Brand Kasturi, and improving workforce training through necessary skill and knowledge development in the textile industry. The conclave also featured six prominent speakers who shared the success stories of their business groups: Shri Kulin Lalbhai (Arvind Ltd.), Shri Santosh Banthia (Citizen Umbrella Manufacturers Ltd.), Dr. Sharad Saraf (Technocraft Industries), Shri Sanjay Jain (TT Ltd.), Shri Prashant Agrawal (Wazir Advisors Pvt. Ltd.), and Shri Kaushal Shah (Louis Dreyfus Company).
Third Textile Leadership Conclave (15th June 2024)
The conclave was attended by Shri Hasmukhbhai Patel, Member of Parliament and President of The Textile Association (India), Ahmedabad Unit. As the Chief Guest, Shri Hasmukhbhai Patel unveiled the Memoirs of the Textile Leadership Conclave, praising its compilation of insights from previous editions and urging collaboration to make India a global textile hub. The event also featured a Patola fashion show, celebrating the cultural significance of Gujarat and Patan Patola. Four innovative startups presented their solutions: Agrobits Green Venture, Seamless Textech Pvt. Ltd., Statement Denim, and AltMat Pvt. Ltd., showcasing eco-friendly products, conductive textiles, and sustainable fibers. The conclave also featured three prominent speakers who shared the success stories of their business groups: Dr. S.N. Modani (Sangam (India) Ltd.), Shri Pramod Khosla (Khosla Profil Pvt. Ltd.), and Shri Ajay Arora (D’Décor Home Fabrics Pvt. Ltd.).
