ICC signs letter of intent with Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub

Both parties to co-create a sustainable and impactful entrepreneurial ecosystem for regional and national growth

Ahmedabad, December 19, 2024: As part of the Indian Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) year-long centenary celebration, ICC signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Gujarat Student Startup and Innovation Hub (i-Hub) to foster a startup and innovation ecosystem by integrating industry, academia, and startup stakeholders in the region. The agreement focuses on addressing industry challenges and supporting entrepreneurship through a mentor network comprising ICC industry members and by connecting startups with relevant industries for strategic guidance and partnerships. The LoI was signed by CEO, i-Hub, Shri Hiranmay Mahanta, and President of ICC and MD of Jindal Stainless, Shri Abhyuday Jindal.

Speaking about the collaboration, President of ICC and MD of Jindal Stainless, Shri Abhyuday Jindal, said, “Gujarat has established itself as one of India’s leading hubs for innovation, and this partnership will further catalyse entrepreneurial growth in the region. By supporting startups, we are investing in the future of our economy, driving job creation, and fostering a culture of innovation that will benefit businesses and society at large. I am confident that ICC and i-Hub will together nurture start-ups and provide them all the necessary support. As ICC, we are proud to be a part of this journey. Knowing its potential, I am sure we will hear success stories down the line that drive positive societal change.”

Adding to it, CEO, i-Hub, Shri Hiranmay Mahanta, said, “Gujarat has been at the forefront of working towards Hon’ble Prime Minister’s ‘Startup India’ mission. This collaboration with ICC will bring together multiple stakeholders to create an ecosystem that empowers the younger generation to innovate and lead. At i-Hub, we are helping young entrepreneurs to solve the real-world challenges through innovation. As part of the LoI, we will together organise workshops, bootcamps, and masterclasses for startups and industry representatives. We are excited to partner with ICC in building a robust startup ecosystem and look forward to achieving great milestones together.”

This year marks the centenary year for ICC. Over the years, ICC has been involved in the strengthening of the startup ecosystem in India. This LoI reaffirms ICC’s commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices across the nation as the organisation continues to expand its presence.
