Gujarati Version of “The Maverick Effect” Launched in Ahmedabad After English Edition’s Triumph
Ahmedabad: On September 14, 2024, Gujarati version of the book “The Maverick Effect” by renowned author Mr. Harish Mehta was launched at the Ahmedabad Management Association. It is worth noting that Mr. Harish Mehta is the author of “The Maverick Effect: The Inside Story of India’s IT Revolution,” Managing Trustee of the Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust, Founder of Onward Technologies Limited, and Founding Chairman of NASSCOM.
The book launch event featured remarks by GESIA Chairman and Director, Shri. Pranav Pandya and Co-Founder and Chairman, DEV IT Ltd.; and Shri Jatin Trivedi, Senior Partner, IP Advisor and Advocate at Y J Trivedi & Co., Former President, TiE Ahmedabad.
A fireside chat was held with Mr. Harish Mehta and Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary, Professor and Associate Dean, School of Engineering and Applied Science at Ahmedabad University, Gujarati literature exponent. The event also included a discussion with the audience.
In the Indian IT sector, Mr. Harish Mehta is recognized as a pioneering force behind the acceleration of the IT industry in India, having co-founded NASSCOM in 1988. He was elected as the first President of NASSCOM and served as the convener of the NASSCOM President’s Council.
Mr. Harish Mehta is also an award-winning author of the 2022 national bestseller “The Maverick Effect,” which has strengthened his reputation as a master storyteller. The Gujarati translation of this book was launched in Surat and subsequently in Ahmedabad. The book launch event was attended by college principals, faculty, students, and many individuals involved in the IT sector in Ahmedabad.
There was a time when India was known as the “Land of Snake Charmers,” and today it has become a “Global Technology Hub.” The dusty, colonial buildings filled with piles of files have been replaced by bright, glass-walled offices filled with computers. People have become fearless and self-reliant. A significant transformation has occurred in just 30 years.
This transformation is explored in Mr. Harish Mehta’s book “The Maverick Effect.” Mr. Harish Mehta states, “This book presents countless stories of the Indian IT revolution under NASSCOM’s leadership that I witnessed as a co-founder and first elected Chairman of NASSCOM.
