GLS-FOC presents ‘YOUTH LEAD DIALOGUE’ Empowering the Next Generation

Ahmedabad, GLS University, in association with the Youth Office and the Global Shapers Community, organized a thought-provoking event titled “Youth Lead Dialogue.” Held at the Faculty of Commerce, the event was designed to create a platform for young individuals to engage with experienced professionals and learn about the evolving role of youth in shaping society, leadership, and innovation.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the dignitaries and participants. A brief introduction of the session’s purpose set the stage for a meaningful exchange of ideas focused on youth empowerment, technological advancement, and responsible leadership. The session focused on timely and relevant themes including the role of youth in addressing intergenerational issues, the importance of skilling and education in empowering the next generation, building future-ready societies and navigating the future of the workforce.
The dialogue featured the presence of Mr. Rohan Shah, a prominent entrepreneur and innovation expert, and Mr. Unmesh Dixit, a seasoned leader from the management and communication space. Their session focused primarily on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing significance in today’s world. Both speakers shared an engaging and practical perspective on how AI is transforming industries such as healthcare, education, business, and governance. They discussed the need for developing robust digital infrastructures and highlighted the critical role of emerging technologies in building future-ready systems.
Mr. Rohan Shah highlighted how Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept — it is now embedded in our everyday lives. He explained that AI is not something to fear, but rather a powerful tool that can transform careers, industries, and lifestyles. His statement: “AI is not a job destroyer, but a job transformer, “resonated strongly with students and helped shift perspectives from anxiety to awareness. He also encouraged the audience to take ownership of their learning, adopt creative thinking, and prepare themselves for a dynamic world shaped by technology.
Mr. Unmesh Dixit introduced the concept of dividing modern competencies into two key areas — hard skills and human skills Under hard skills, he stressed the importance of data literacy, understanding how AI functions, and asking the right questions to get relevant answers. Under human skills, he underlined the growing value of creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence — abilities that remain uniquely human even in a technology-driven world. One of his most inspiring statements was: The force within will change our life. He encouraged students to believe in their inner potential and reminded them that while AI can assist, it is the human mind and spirit that will always lead.
A key highlight of both speakers’ discussion was debunking the popular myth that AI will completely replace human jobs. Instead, they explained how AI will change the nature of work, making it more efficient and allowing humans to focus on tasks that require creativity, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving. The speakers emphasized that students must not fear AI, but rather learn to work alongside it, developing skills that complement automation and smart systems.
Their message was highly relatable for students, many of whom are entering the workforce during a period of rapid digital change. The speakers encouraged the audience to see AI as a partner, not a threat, and urged them to be proactive learners and contributors in this evolving landscape.
Rather than presenting the topic in a purely academic manner, the session adopted an interactive tone. The speakers addressed questions from students, encouraged dialogue, and offered actionable insights into how youth can equip themselves to thrive in an AI-driven world. The discussion underscored the importance of adaptability, digital skills, and ethical awareness as key elements of future leadership.
The event also welcomed Hardik Jain and Krunal Shah, both actively involved in youth engagement initiatives. They spoke about the power of civic participation, the importance of taking initiative, and how young people can play a transformative role in their communities.
Hardik Jain focused on local and global youth platforms and emphasized the impact of youth-led action. His message revolved around leadership as a mindset that can be applied at any stage of life, through consistent involvement in community issues and social causes.
Krunal Shah shared his journey of working with large-scale youth programs and representing India at international forums. His address included personal experiences of leading policy discussions, promoting youth voices, and collaborating with organizations such as UNICEF and the United Nations. He encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones and seek opportunities to lead by example.
Together, their contributions added a strong social dimension to the technological discussions, reminding students that innovation must also be accompanied by empathy, awareness, and civic responsibility.
The event was well-received by the students, many of whom found the discussions highly relatable, inspiring, and forward-thinking. Youth Lead Dialogue proved to be more than just an academic session—it was a meaningful interaction that highlighted the intersection of technology, leadership, and social change.
Through the voices of experienced professionals and community leaders, students were encouraged to think critically, dream ambitiously, and act responsibly. The event was well-coordinated by Dr. Aashal Bhatt and Dr. Bhumika Ansodaria and who ensured its smooth execution and success.
