IRDAI Chief Highlights Role of Accounts Aggregator in Insurance Expansion
New Delhi, Sep 2: On the occasion of Accounts Aggregator (AA) Foundation Day, IRDAI Chairperson Ajay Seth lauded the AA ecosystem for making financial data sharing safe, simple, and consent-driven.
Seth said that the AA framework is enabling the use of data, analytics, and technology to design insurance products that are more affordable, accessible, and tailored to people’s needs.
Highlighting recent progress, he noted that in 2025, the adoption of AA saw a significant rise in the insurance sector, especially in underwriting term insurance policies. He encouraged more insurers to experiment and innovate using the robust Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) rails.
“The DPI is poised to play a key role in ensuring that every Indian family has adequate protection, helping us achieve the national objective of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’,” Seth emphasized.
