A Confluence of Thought, Expression, and Brotherhood: Elocution Finale at GLS University
Ahmedabad, GLS-FOC, under the auspice of the Swami Vivekananda Study Circle, organized the Finale of the Inter School and Collegiate Elocution Competition on the 12th January, 2026 commemorating Universal Brotherhood Day and the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event marked the successful culmination of an intellectually enriching and value oriented academic initiative.
Building upon the strong foundation laid during the semi-finals, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 34 schools and colleges, the final round brought together the most accomplished and articulate speakers. The participants eloquently presented their ideas on the themes “Swami Vivekananda: An Inspiration for Modern Youth” and “Swami Vivekananda’s Vision for a Strong India,” reflecting deep insight, social awareness, and a strong sense of national responsibility.
The finals were adjudicated by Ms. Anurita Rathore Jadeja, a senior journalist and Contributing Editor with Ahmedabad Mirror. Her keen observations and encouraging feedback added depth and perspective to the proceedings. As a glimpse of the competition’s journey, the semi-finals, held on the 2nd, were adjudged by Dr. Nilesh Suchak and Prof. Dr. Chetan Mewada, whose academic expertise played a vital role in setting high benchmarks for the competition.

The Inter-Collegiate category witnessed exceptional performances, and the winners were:
- First Place: Janvi Gupta (H. A. College of Commerce)
- Second Place: Stuti Yadav (GLS – Faculty of Commerce)
- Third Place: Shreya Dhandhukia (GLS Faculty of Performing Arts), Aarju Shahi (L.D. Arts College – School of Commerce) and Rima Mishra (C. U. Shah Arts College)

In the Inter-School category, the winners were:
- First Position: Dhwani Khatri (Mount Carmel High School)
- Second Position: Vismaya Unnithan (Shree Narayana Central School) and Nikhil Mohnani (St. Xavier’s Hansol High School)
- Third Position: Mahi Patel (Shree Narayana Guru Vidyalaya) and Rohan Jasnani (William Xavier Higher Secondary School)
The finalists captivated the audience with their confidence, clarity of expression, and originality of thought. The judges commended the participants for their articulate delivery and meaningful content, making the finale a celebration of intellect, expression, and youthful enthusiasm.
The event concluded on a grand and inspiring note, truly upholding the spirit of Universal Brotherhood and Swami Vivekananda’s vision of a strong, enlightened India, while reaffirming GLS University’s unwavering commitment to nurturing confident communicators and socially responsible citizens.
The event was efficiently coordinated by student coordinators under the guidance of Dr. Bhumika Ansodaria and Dr. Gitanjali Rampal, whose meticulous planning and dedicated efforts ensured the smooth and successful execution of the program. Their academic guidance and organizational expertise played a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the event.
