Expert Session on “Can Vaccination Prevent Cancer?” at GLS-FOC

Ahmedabad, The Faculty of Commerce, GLS University, under the auspices of the Collegiate Women Development Committee, successfully organized an expert session titled “Can Vaccination Prevent Cancer?

The session was delivered by Dr. Aditi Bhatt, Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology, specializing in Gastrointestinal, Gynecological, and Peritoneal Surface Oncology, and an Ovarian Cancer and HIPEC Specialist. Dr. Bhatt shared valuable medical insights on the role of vaccination in cancer prevention, with special emphasis on *cervical cancer* and *breast cancer*, which are among the most prevalent cancers affecting women today.

During the session, Dr. Bhatt elaborated on the importance of *HPV vaccination* in preventing cervical cancer, early warning signs, screening methods, and the significance of timely medical intervention. She also discussed breast cancer awareness, highlighting self-examination techniques, early detection, lifestyle factors, and myths surrounding the disease. The session aimed to create awareness and empower young women with accurate medical knowledge regarding preventive healthcare.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who actively engaged in discussions and raised insightful questions related to cancer prevention, vaccination safety, and women’s health.
