The world’s largest, free of cost old age home for 5000 elders will take shape in Rajkot with a cost of Rs.300 crore

Ahmedabad,  September 25, 2024 – The new premises of India’s largest ‘Sadbhavana Old age home ‘ is going to be constructed in 30 acres of land by Manavseva Charitable Trust with the support of philanthropists of the society to perpetuate the spirit of “Matridevo Bhav Pitridevo Bhav” at Rampar on Rajkot-Jamnagar highway..

The cost of constructing this old age home is approximately Rs. 300 crores in which 1400 rooms will be prepared for 5000 destitute, bed ridden, sick elders in 7 new buildings of 11 floors. In this regard, Ramkatha of the most Reverend Saint Shri Morari Bapu has been organized in Rajkot from November 23 to December 1, 2024.

International Convener and General Secretary of Hindu Dharmacharya Mahasabha and President of Sri Shivananda Ashram Ahmedabad and Patron of Sadbhavana Old Age Home Param Pujya Paramatmananda Saraswatiji said on this occasion that in the present time the spirit of “Matridevo Bhava” – “Pitru Devo Bhava” has also decreased. The need of the hour is that more and more people join the service of elders who have no one.

Over the past few years, the “less child Jai Gopal” mentality has reduced the number of children in the family and joint families have ceased to exist. Due to such reasons, old age becomes very painful for elders of all strata of society, whether they are wealthy in the society or their sons and daughters are married abroad or they have left their native land and are living in any corner of India for employement purposes, the elders of the house become destitute.

The worst condition is that of the working class, such as rickshaw pullers, baggers, laborers, housewives, etc. The condition is worst when they are physically unable to do anything. Seeing the condition of such people in the society, Sadbhavana Vridashram has been started out of compassion for them. In Sadbhavana Old age home , all the volunteers serve selflessly. The entire team of Sadbhavana Old age home  was blessed by the presence of elderly people serving in the institution which led to the growth of Sadbhavana Sansthan. Today, about 650 elderly people are being served, in which more than 200 elders are bed ridden and in “diapers”, the volunteers who prepare them, change their clothes, feed them, also work diligently.

Param Pujya Paramatmananda Saraswatiji further said that in view of the continuous blessings of the elders which the organization receives and the collection of donations from pious, charitable donors from all over Gujarat and especially from Rajkot, the Manav Seva Charitable Trust is constructing new old age home to accommodate 5000 elders with 1400 rooms in 30 acres of land at Rampar on the Rajkot-Jamnagar Highway.

The volunteers of the organization has been  working tirelessly to complete this old age home in approximately next two years. This old age home will have all the latest facilities including temple, Annapurna house, library, exercise equipment, yoga room, dispensary, garden, community hall, garden and so on. Manav Seva Charitable Trust is an attempt to organize ‘Na Bhuto Na Bhavishyati’ kind of divine planning as a whole.

Impressed by this project, some senior journalists of Ahmedabad today offered a token amount of donation to Pujya Swami Parmatmanand Saraswatiji. Pujya Swamiji blessed the journalists and thank the media fraternity.
