Two day Int. conference on Yoga and Sanskrit based Indian Knowledge Systems begins at Lakulish Yoga University
Ahmedabad January 9, 2025 – A two-day International conference on “Indian Knowledge systems of Yoga and Sanskrit for Global well being” was inaugurated at Lakulish Yoga University, Ahmedabad.
This international conference to be held from 9th and 10th January 2025 has been organized jointly by Lakulish Yoga University, Sri Swaminarayan Research Center-Vadtal Dham and Gujarat Sahitya Academy. This two-day conference will be held both live (offline) and online.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Lakulish Yoga University Mr. Vivek Maheshwari said that in modern times, the propagation of yoga has spread widely at the global level.
At that time, this international conference was organized with the aim that students, teachers and anyone interested in the study of yoga at a wide level in the society and especially those involved in the study of yoga would get basic knowledge about ‘Yoga for global well-being and Sanskrit-based Indian knowledge tradition’. As the new National Education Policy (2020) also emphasizes on Indian knowledge texts, Indian age-old tradition etc., this conference will be very necessary and welcome.
On this occasion, Chairman of Lakulish Yoga University, India Knowledge System (IKS) Department and Chief Organizer (Secretary) of this International Conference Dr. Nehal Dave said, “ in this international seminar, Yoga is not only Asana-Pranayama, but most aspects of daily life are covered in the Indian knowledge system based on Yoga. In this international conference, more than 50 research papers will be presented on various topics like ‘How yoga will help us to face the challenges of AI on human and social values’, ‘Utility of yoga in stressful modern life’, ‘Yoga and psychology’ etc. And there will be enlightening discussions on it by experts.”
He further said that the role of Gujarat Sahitya Academy is very important in the propagation of Sanskrit and Indian knowledge system. How can life be made easier by combining Sanskrit with AI in today’s modern age? Gujarat Sahitya Academy will present the traditional knowledge of Sanskrit subject in this international conference.
Apart from this, research papers highlighting the importance of Sanskrit language and its education for preserving Indian knowledge and imparting it to the next generation are also to be presented in this international conference. The scriptures that reveal the Indian knowledge tradition are in Sanskrit language. Like Yoga, Sanskrit language is also gaining acceptance in the world. The understanding of various aspects for the well-being of the world is given in the Indian Gyana texts.
More than 350 students, researchers, teachers from all over India and from Gujarat participated in this two-day international conference. More than 50 people from abroad participated in this seminar through online medium.
