Veer Ratna Foundation expands their outreach for veer naris in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, The Veer Ratna Foundation (VRF), an NGO dedicated to empowering the wives and children of battle casualties who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, is proud to announce the expansion of its services to Gujarat. After successfully supporting nearly 200 families in Karnataka and extending its reach to Maharashtra, VRF is now eager to witness a similar impact in Gujarat, specifically catering to the veer naaris (war widows) of battle casualties from the region.
This outreach program was supported by Gujarat State- Rajya Sainik Welfare and Resettlementand Ahmedabad- Zilla Sainik Welfare and Resettlement- their respective Directors,DSWR Col Krishnadeep Sinh and ZSWO Col A K Singh.

The war widows of our jawans often come from rural backgrounds and face altered realities after the loss of their husbands. While government schemes provide financial support, VRF augments these efforts with carefully designed engagement models. The foundation’s work focuses on empowering each beneficiary to navigate the myriad social, financial, parental, and interpersonal pressures that they may encounter. We are committed to bringing the rhythm of life back to these families, ensuring they thrive despite their challenges”.
VRF relies on CSR funds from corporates and sponsorships from philanthropists to implement their various projects/programs. The Empowerment Programs (EPs) address various aspects of well-being, including interpersonal, financial, emotional, social, and vocational needs, fostering independence and resilience. The Memorial Awards (MA) program honors the bravery of fallen soldiers by awarding scholarships to the best students in their schools, ensuring their legacy lives on.
Additionally, the Gift-a-Birthday (GAB) initiative expresses love and remembrance, making families feel cherished on their special days. The Women & Youth Leadership Program (WYLP) identifies and nurtures leaders among program graduates, empowering them to lead community outreach initiatives and create a lasting impact.
VRF’s projects is focused on developing broader essential life perspectives, help families improve their problem-solving skills, foster stronger familial bonds and inculcate increased awareness about their entitlements as BC families.
