IFS Officers Explore the Mahindra Sanatkada Festival 2025

In February 2025, a delegation of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers explored the Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival, delving into the city’s rich history, culture, crafts, and cuisine. Held from January 31 to February 4 at Safed Baradari and Salempur Estate in Qaiser Bagh, the festival’s theme, Lucknow ke Gali Kooche, highlighted the city’s hidden alleys and stories.

The officers engaged with artisans, sampled Awadhi delicacies, and attended cultural performances, gaining deeper insights into Lucknow’s vibrant heritage. Their participation emphasized the festival’s role in promoting cultural diplomacy and celebrating India’s diverse traditions.

Uttar Pradesh and Japan Strengthen Ties to Boost Buddhist Tourism

A high-level Japanese delegation led by Mr. Ko Osada, Deputy Governor of Yamanashi, visited Uttar Pradesh to explore tourism investment, focusing on the Buddhist Circuit. Tourism Minister Mr. Jaiveer Singh welcomed the delegation, highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s Buddhist heritage and investment-friendly policies like the 90-year land lease. Officials discussed the development of 179.77 acres for tourism infrastructure and investment-ready projects worth ₹76 billion. Osada praised the state’s historical significance and announced a larger Japanese delegation visit. Senior officials emphasized improved connectivity, infrastructure, and hospitality, reinforcing Indo-Japanese ties in tourism and economic collaboration.

GoUP Tourism Partners with DICCI to Boost Entrepreneurship and Investment

The Department of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh, is collaborating with DICCI to empower SC/ST entrepreneurs and MSMEs, enhance skill development, and attract global investments in the tourism sector. Principal Secretary Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meshram met with DICCI Uttar Pradesh President Mr. Kunwar Shashank to discuss strategic growth opportunities.
