Morgan Stanley Sets-up Operations in GIFT IFSC Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) today announced the inauguration of its Fund Management operations (Morgan Stanley IFSC Fund) in GIFT IFSC, India’s international financial gateway.

Morgan Stanley’spresence in GIFT City, further deepens the Firm’s footprint in India and demonstrates our confidence in the future of GIFT IFSC. The newly established operations have been set-up to allow the Firm to participate in the multi-decade investment opportunities that India has to offer.

“This is a significant milestone for our franchise,” said Arun Kohli, Managing Director, and Country Head of India, Morgan Stanley. “Setting-up of operations in GIFT IFSC is an enabler to our growth strategy in India,”adds Kohli.

Malavika Shanker, Head of India Equities, Morgan Stanley, said, “For foreign investors, the opportunity for fund flows through GIFT IFSC, which offers ease of access and a simplified regulatory regime at par with globally benchmarked financial hubs, is an exciting opportunity for Morgan Stanley.”

Mr. K Rajaraman, Chairman of IFSCA,  and Mr. Subhash Chandra Agarwal, IRS, Addl. Director General (ADG), Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and Senior Development Commissioner, GIFT City – SEZ Gandhinagar, attended the inauguration event. Senior officials from IFSC, IFSCA and GIFT SEZ also attended the event.
