Unolona Academy organises two day workshop of Creative Futures

Ahmedabad, May 25, 2024 – Unolona Academy kicked off its highly anticipated Creative Futures event today, marking the first of a two-day celebration dedicated to fostering career pathways in the creative arts for students.

The event, which aims to bring together consultants, educators, counselors, and colleges, is expected to attract a total footfall of 100-150 people.

Uno Lona Academy (ULA) specialises in art and design education for K -12 students, nurturing creativity and imagination to help learners achieve big, bold things in the future.

ULA offers two key courses—Foundation and Portfolio—that raise awareness about art and design career options, build 21st-century skills, and provide a pathway to higher education in arts, design, and architecture.

Creative Futures” is a career-focused event that brings together students, parents, educators, career consultants, and colleges in one place to build an ecosystem for creative career-building. This event raises awareness about art and design professions and provides access to the right people for accurate information about building a career in the creative fields.

“Creative Futures marks a pivotal step in our commitment to raising awareness about careers in the creative fields. India’s Creative Economy has a long way to go when compared to the global creative economy and we believe that this event can help build the ecosystem for children at an early stage and contribute towards better creative education,” says Mr. Harsimran Juneja, Co-Founder of Uno Lona Academy.

Day 1 Highlights:

  • Exhibition Opening : The event began with an inspiring exhibition showcasing various forms of creative work.
  • Mixed Media Painting Workshop : Students and attendees explored diverse techniques in a hands-on painting workshop.
  • Pottery Workshop : Participants engaged in creating beautiful pottery pieces, learning from expert artisans.
  • Director’s Insight : A session by Avkash R Sharma from Amity University on building a career in design.
  • Presentations by Renowned Institutions:
    • Istituto Marangoni 
    • Ms Sharmila Sagara, Anant National University
  • Lino Print Workshop : Attendees learned the art of lino printing, creating unique and personal prints.

The second day promises to be equally enriching with a series of workshops and sessions aimed at providing students with essential skills and insights for their creative journeys. Highlights include:

  • Profile Building Session (11:30 AM – 12:15 PM): Vaishali Shah from Oncourse will guide students on how to build a strong portfolio.
  • Alumni Stories:
    • Sanika Shah, Brand Visualiser (12:30 PM – 1:15 PM)
    • Nishika Bhagat, Osé Studios (3:00 PM – 3:45 PM)
  • Test Preparation for Universities Abroad (4:00 PM – 4:45 PM): Amol Jhaveri from Ivy Prep will share strategies for test success.
  • Subject Selection for 11th – 12th Grades (4:00 PM – 4:45 PM): Anupa Joshipura from Ivy Prep will offer guidance on choosing the right subjects.
  • Live Performance by Artist Sherril Sejpal (5:00 PM – 5:45 PM)
  • Overseas Education Opportunities for Art & Design (6:00 PM – 6:45 PM): Vishakha Kataria from AOEM will discuss studying abroad.
