A Dilapidated Ancestral Home and One Explosive Drama: COLORS introduces new show ‘Ram Bhavan’

Mumbai, Sometimes, all it takes is a common enemy to unite two starkly opposite individuals. This compelling premise drives the promo for COLORS’ upcoming drama, ‘Ram Bhavan set against the backdrop of Prayagraj. The promo opens with a commanding view of Ram Bhavan, standing as a silent sentinel to the tensions simmering inside.

It introduces the charismatic Mishkat Verma as Om Ramdas Vajpayee, navigating life with his prideful swagger and the self-proclaimed title: “Acharyaji ka ladka hisaab ka bada pakka hain”. In stark contrast, Isha, played by Khushbu Rajendra, is a portrait of humility, rooted in simplicity. The story takes an intriguing turn when they both face a shared adversary—Gayatri, Om’s domineering sister-in-law and Isha’s authoritative boss, brought to life by Samiksha Jaiswal. Ram Bhavan will witness the collision of these three powerful personalities – Om ke tevar aur Isha ki samajhdaari kya Gayatri par bhaari padegi yeh saajhedaari?

Mishkat Vermawho breathes life into the spirited Om, shares, “Om is unlike any character I’ve played before. His pride and mischief make him endearing yet complex and layered. What drew me to the story was how, beneath his nonchalant exterior and his act of indifference, Om cares deeply for his family and their well-being. He is the only one who stands up against Gayatri’s dominance. His swag, layered with vulnerability, is something I’m certain viewers will instantly fall in love with!”

Khushbu Rajendrareflecting on her role as Isha, says, “I’m thrilled to essay Isha, a rooted princess who was born into a life of riches but had to rise again after her world turned upside down. Her strength lies in her calm amidst the chaos. She’s a survivor, a quiet force who has nothing in common with Om other than their shared disdain for Gayatri. It’s incredible how Isha, despite the obstacles she’s faced—including the formidable Gayatri—proves that resilience can be louder than dominance.”

Samiksha Jaiswal, stepping into the formidable shoes of Gayatri, adds, “Gayatri is a powerhouse, and playing her is both challenging and exciting. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t shy away from conflict and asserting herself. Reading the script, I was captivated by how her complex relationships unfold, making her an antagonist, unlike the one we’ve seen on television.”
