AMA Celebrates National Management Day with Dr. S Somanath’s Talk

AMA celebrated the ‘National Management Day’ by hosting the Special Talk addressed by Dr. S Somanath (Former Chairman of ISRO) on “India Tomorrow: Unlocking Industry, Innovation, Talent”
All India Management Association (AIMA) celebrates its Foundation Day on 21st February every year. February 21st was declared as India’s ‘National Management Day’. As AMA is affiliated with AIMA, today AMA celebrated the ‘National Management Day’ by hosting the special talk addressed by Dr. S Somanath (Former Chairman of ISRO, Distinguished Scientist (Apex Grade), Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor at ISRO) on “India Tomorrow: Unlocking Industry, Innovation, Talent.”
Mr. Rajiv Gandhi (Vice President of AMA and Managing Director & CEO of Hester Biosciences Ltd., and Aerotrans) introduced the theme of this year celebration and contributions of AIMA and local management associations in development of individuals, industries and nation through management education.
Dr. Savan Godiawala (President of AMA) chaired the talk and led the discussion by highlighting the importance of management in any industry and implying principles of management in different processes of any Industry.
Dr. S Somanath remembered the father of Indian Space Research Program Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and evolution of ISRO and the Department of Space from a baby steps to giant leaps into the universe. In the beginning, the Space Industry was unknown, but the vision, passion, dedication, commitment, hard work, management skills and the leadership of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai played a significant role in making us successful.
The goal of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai was to contribute to the community and the world through the implication of science and technology. Dr. Somanath suggested to people remaining alert and updating ourselves in the age of competition and fast change governed by AI and technology. We need to learn to overcome failures and get better results within available resources and through cost-effective products and services. The Indian mindset is very good in taking risks and learning from failures.
