GCCI jointly with CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar organized Public Awareness Programme,

 related to Anti- Corruption Activities of CBI, Anti-Corruption Branch, Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad, GCCI with CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar organized a Public Awareness Programme to create awareness about Anti-Corruption Activities of CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar.

The event was jointly organized by GCCI Food & Dairy Committee, Mahajan Sanklan Taskforce, MSME Committee and Youth Committee. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri C. Kalaichelvan, IPS, Head of CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar and the Guests of Honour were Shri Ganesh Shankar, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Shri Ram Prasad, Dy. Superintendent of Police and Shri Neeraj Malik Police Inspector, from CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar.

Welcoming the guests and participants GCCI President Shri Sandeep Engineer congratulated CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar in taking up this “Awareness Initiative”. He remarked about the necessity for the people at large to have basic, rudimentary knowledge about whom to contact when they encounter corrupt practices. He considered it the joint responsibility of citizens as well as Government to fight against corruption and strive to create a just society.

Speaking on the occasion Shri C.Kalaichevlan, Head, CBI, ACB, Gandhinagar mentioned about the structure of CBI ACB, its various branches and its scope of work. He emphasized that the Transparent System is the primary requirement to deal with corruption activities. He assured participants that the information is kept confidential and hence people should not worry about their names being exposed.

Shri Shri Ganesh Shankar, Dy. Superintendent of Police said in his speech that explained the functioning of CBI. He remarked that CBI always stands with the citizens and creating awareness is their priority. He also gave introduction of various operations. He remarked that there is Zero Tolerance about Corruption.

Shri Ram Prasad, Dy. Superintendent of Police briefed participants about unlawful activities of Government officials and requested participants to report the same to CBI so that necessary actions can be taken. He remarked that CBI main cases are with Central Government Agencies as well as Public Sector Units and Public Sector Banks.

Shri Neeraj Malik Police Inspector briefed about information of protection to the complaintant under Whistle Blower Protection Act, 2014. He mentioned that bribe given and bribe takers are both accused. The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by GCCI Hon. Secretary Shri Gaurang Bhagat.
