with “Save Water – Save Kidney – Save Environment” Awareness Initiative
Ahmedabad, On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Marengo CIMS Hospital in association with Angadan Charitable Trust successfully organized the “Save Water – Save Kidney – Save Environment” Dialysis Patient Awareness & Engagement Program on 4th June 2026 at R.K. Royal Hall, Science City Road, Sola, Ahmedabad at 4:00 PM.The initiative highlighted the important connection between kidney health, environmental sustainability, water conservation, and organ donation awareness.
During the program, experts emphasized that dialysis remains a life-saving and essential treatment for thousands of patients with kidney failure. At the same time, they highlighted that for medically suitable patients, kidney transplantation can offer improved long-term quality of life while also helping reduce the environmental burden associated with repeated dialysis procedures.
As part of the event, Chief Guest Shri C. R. Patil, Union Minister of Jal Shakti Govt. of India and Guest of Honour Shri Dilip Deshmukh Founder, Angdaan Charitable Trust addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on environmental conservation, public health responsibility, and community participation in sustainable healthcare initiatives.
A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of dialysis warriors, kidney transplant recipients, and cadaver donor families in recognition of their courage, resilience, and life-saving contributions towards society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mayur Patil, Consultant Nephrologist, Marengo CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad, said, “Dialysis is an essential and life-saving therapy for patients with chronic kidney failure. However, for medically eligible patients, kidney transplantation can offer better long-term outcomes, improved quality of life and greater independence with reduced hospital dependency.

The initiative also emphasized preventive nephrology through awareness on hydration, diabetes control, blood pressure management, early kidney screening, and healthy lifestyle practices.
