Palladium Ahmedabad Wraps Up Six-Weekend Origami Wonders Workshop Series with Grand Finale
Palladium Ahmedabad, Hitomi Sato & Indo Japan Friendship Association Celebrate the Grand Finale of ‘Origami Wonders’ as Part of the Experience Kyoto Initiative
Ahmedabad, 27 June 2026: Palladium Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the Indo Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat, celebrated the successful grand finale of ‘Origami Wonders – One Paper, Endless Possibilities’, a unique cultural initiative presented as part of its ongoing Experience Kyoto décor experience. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Consul General of Japan in India, Ms. Hitomi Sato, whose presence underscored the growing cultural ties between India and Japan and added significance to the celebration.
Held at the Event Arena on the 3rd Floor of Palladium Ahmedabad, the grand finale marked the culmination of a six-weekend origami workshop series designed to introduce children and families to the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Conceptualized as an extension of the mall’s Experience Kyoto initiative, the workshops offered visitors an immersive opportunity to experience authentic Japanese culture through creativity, learning, and interactive engagement.

Organised in association with the Indo Japan Friendship Association, Gujarat, and supported by the Honorary Consul of Japan in Ahmedabad, the initiative reflected a shared vision of fostering cultural exchange and strengthening Indo-Japanese relations through meaningful community experiences.
The grand finale featured an inspiring Origami Exhibition showcasing the remarkable creations of young participants, alongside an interactive origami workshop where children and families explored the intricate art of paper folding under expert guidance. Visitors also enjoyed specially curated food and beverages while immersing themselves in an atmosphere inspired by Japanese art, culture, and tradition. Following the event, Ms. Hitomi Sato was hosted for dinner at Ishaara, Palladium Ahmedabad, where the evening continued with conversations celebrating Indo-Japanese cultural exchange and hospitality.

The journey of Origami Wonders began on 16 May 2026, with workshops conducted every weekend at CHA & CAFÉ ALLORA on the 4th Floor of Palladium Ahmedabad. Over six weekends, more than 50 children participated each weekend, learning to transform a simple sheet of paper into birds, flowers, animals, and geometric designs. Beyond nurturing artistic expression, the workshops encouraged concentration, patience, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and imaginative thinking.
The initiative received an enthusiastic response from both children and parents, offering an engaging blend of education, creativity, and cultural discovery. As part of the Experience Kyoto décor, the workshops enabled visitors to experience the essence of Japanese heritage beyond visual installations, bringing the culture to life through hands-on participation.
Speaking on the occasion, a spokesperson from Palladium Ahmedabad said, “Origami Wonders has been a beautiful celebration of creativity, culture, and community. Through our Experience Kyoto initiative, we wanted to go beyond décor and offer visitors an immersive opportunity to engage with an authentic aspect of Japanese heritage. In collaboration with the Indo Japan Friendship Association, we are delighted to have created a platform where families could experience Japanese culture through creativity, learning, and meaningful participation. The overwhelming response throughout the workshop series reflects the growing appreciation for experiential cultural initiatives.”
