Canadian Wood hosts an insightful seminar on Building with Sustainable and Certified Wood at CEPT University Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The British Columbia (B.C.) provincial government’s crown corporation, Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt Ltd (FII India), popularly known as Canadian Wood, conducted a seminar on “Building with Sustainable and Certified Canadian Wood” at the CEPT University, Ahmedabad for the architectural fertanity, faculty of architectural colleges and few prominent architects from the Industry.

The seminar was held on 9th August 2024, from 10:30 am to 01:00 pm at the CEPT University Auditorium. The seminar provided valuable insights into the benefits and applications of sustainably sourced Canadian wood. It also featured expert presentations and interactive sessions that highlight the versatility and environmental advantages of Canadian wood species.

 The seminar showcased presentations from esteemed Canadian Wood team, including Mr. Pranesh Chhibber, Country Director of Canadian Wood; Dr. Jimmy Thomas, Assistant Director – Technical Services of Canadian Wood; and Mr. Gajanan Patankar, Assistant Director – Business Development of Canadian Wood. Additionally, we also had an domain expert from the industry Mr. Vivekabhilash Sharma from Artius Interior Products who shared valuable insights and experience on building with wood in India.

 The seminar commenced with an opening address by Mr. Pranesh Chhibber, known to emphasize the importance of sustainable practices in the wood industry and the commitment of Canadian Wood to promoting eco-friendly and versatile wood solutions. Following this, Dr. Jimmy Thomas delved into the technical aspects and environmental benefits of using certified wood species.

Mr. Gajanan Patankar presented case studies demonstrating the adaptability of Canadian Wood in various architectural and design contexts. In addition, industry expert Mr. Vivekabhilash Sharma from Artius Interior Products shared his insights on the practical applications of sustainable wood in interior design and construction, He also showcased few prominent projects done in India as examples.

Attendees got an opportunity to engage in interactive Q&A sessions, explored the unique properties and characteristics of different Canadian Wood species, and network with industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.
