“Textile Panel” event organized by GCCI’s Youth Committee with the support of Mahajan Sankalan Taskforce & Defence Taskforce.
Ahmedabad, GCCI’s Youth committee organized “Textile Panel” event on 17th October, 2024. The event was supported by GCCI Mahajan Sanklan Committee and Defence Taskforce.
The panel comprised of Shri Umang Hutheesingh, Shri Jitendra Chauhan, CMD, Jade Blue and Shri Hirabhai Bhansali Director, Asopalav, discussed about Textile industry and future prospects of the industry. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Vitasta Kaul Vyas.
Welcoming the participants, GCCI President Shri Sandeep Engineer took proud note of the presence of three eminent speakers viz. Shri Umang Hutheesingh, Shri Jitendra Chauhan and Shri Hirabhai Bhansali. He remarked that textile sector has been the cornerstone of Gujarat’s economy and plays a vital role in preserving our cultural heritage.
GCCI Hon Secretary, Shri Gaurang Bhagat mentioned about the importance of Textile in the economic journey of Gujarat. He also remarked how Textile industry has provided vital employment in the state. He remarked that the presence of pioneers like Shri Umang Hutheesingh, Shri Jitendra Chauhan and Shri Hirabhai Bhansali will inspire all.
Ms Shumona Agarwal, in her theme address mentioned that Gujarat has a rich legacy of textile and said that she looks forward to a great session to gather rich knowledge about textile industry and how to become a leader in innovation
Shri Umang Hutheesing, Textile Revivalist said that India has got its name from Indigo & Cotton. In 1997, he wore Indian finery in Met Gala and he was acknowledged greatly. He also said that he got a blog of 22 pages in American Vogue.
Shri Hirabhai Bhansali, Director Asopalav mentioned about his own entrepreneurial journey having established Asopalav in Patan in the year 1968. He said that he has always led his business with 3 Principles: 1) Honesty 2) Fixed Rate Policy 3) Quality of Products. He emphasised the importance of Vision.
Shri Jitendra Chauhan, CMD, Jade Blue said that he started Jade Blue in 1995 and in 1999 Jade Blue started selling all brands and it’s USP was tailoring and fabric. This led to Jade Blue’s success and making it a well-known brand. The event concluded after Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri Rohan Kumar, Co-chairmen Youth Committee.
